REPRODUCTION of a very rare Foreign Legion WWII rank badge.
Hand made , in the U.S.A..
Legion green wool felt grenade, tarnished wide gold chevron & legion green soutache all stitched to dark khaki wool felt with cloth backing.
MEASURES: 3½” x 2” (90mm X 65mm)
During World War Two the Legion in North Africa was not able to obtain insignia from mainland France and consequently many of their rank badges were custom made from just about anything that was available, often from existing collar patches or just about anything that came to hand.
