Description
Lightwave Electronics M131S-AA01 laser headONLY
. This unit is serial number 242, manufactured Oct 2001.
This is believed to be an actively mode-locked laser but not even the wavelength is known beyond it being between 10XX and 13XX nm based on the safety sticker. The spec'd average power may be 200 mW.
It has a pair of outputs, the primary output in the center and another fiber-coupled output (though without a recognizable connector), purpose unknown. It may be an optical monitor as it appears to be in the location where the photosensor is in the standard model. A multimode fiber will be included with a ferrule at the input end and an FC connector at the other should this ever spit out any coherent photons.
Removing the outer cover (last 4 photos) doesn't reveal much except that the inner sealed box still has its warranty stickers intact.
This is ONLY the massive laser head, got it? Untested, sold as-is, no returns.
There may be a mating controller on eBay but I also have no idea if it is compatible or whether they need to be serial number matched.
I'm sure there are a lot of high priced components inside to salvage. ;-) This head is large at 19.3 x 7.8 x 5.4 inches and massive weighing in at over 25 pounds, so it would make a decent boat anchor if nothing else. ;-)
I can provide a manual for the 131A but I don't know how close that is to this model. The optical layout diagram is from that manual and is believed to be mostly similar, though I have not broken the warranty seals on the inner optics box to confirm.
And in the trivial triviality department, these lasers cost ,750 new, shipping not included. That's about 5,000 in today's dollars;-)
Thanks for looking,
