The reader is invited to continue the first in the history of specialized printed work on the armament of the Russian army during the First world war. This book is dedicated to the award, prize and gift cold weapons of the Russian army of the early twentieth century. In the daily life of the troops of the 1900s – 1910s premium and prize weapons were widely used on a par with conventional, and thus it is an integral part of the appearance of officers, and in some cases, and the lower ranks of the Russian army of the period. Each of the four chapters of the book is devoted to one type of weapon: Anninsky (weapons with the sign of the order of St. Anna 4th art.), St. George, prize weapons and weapons, presented as gifts. Like previous works of the series “Weapons of the great war”, this book considers weapons primarily from the point of view of the soldier. The book contains a number of biographies of the awarded weapons, which can be considered as a kind of generalized portraits of Russian officers of the late XIX – early XX century. In addition, the book contains a number of documentary materials previously unknown to a wide range of researchers. As an illustrative material used photos of the award, prize and gift weapons from private collections and Museum collections, most of which are published for the first time.
