Formation and regiment campaign
The regiment formed by General Weide June 25, 1700 in Moscow under the  name "Vladimir Yungora Infantry Regiment". In 1702 he was named infantry  regiment Poroshina, in 1703 it is attached to the Governor of St.  Petersburg Regiment. March 10, 1708 the regiment called the Vladimir  infantry. In 1727 the regiment was called long 1st Perm. November 29,  1796 renamed mushketёrsky; April 2, 1798 - in mushketёrsky General of  Infantry Count Gudovich 2nd; June 8, 1800 - in mushketёrsky General of  Infantry Rosenberg, and March 31, 1801 - received its former name -  Vladimir regiment. February 22, 1811 the regiment was renamed in  infantry.
Since the beginning of the Patriotic War of 1812 Vladimir regiment was  divided into several units. Both acting battalion consisted of  observational 3rd Army, Kamensky housing in the 18 th Infantry Division  Sorokin; then these battalions were in the army Chichagova, in the 2nd  Markov case. Grenadier company of the 2nd battalion was part of the 1st  Battalion Grenadier consolidated the 18th Division, which in turn,  fought in the consolidated Grenadier Brigade of her hull. Vladimir regiment acted at  Plevna and 30 August Plevna attacked from the south; two redoubts left  was occupied by a regiment; commandant of the redoubt (Abdul Bey-Tabia)  was appointed commander of the 1st Battalion of the regiment, Major  Vladimir Gortalov heroically perished during the ensuing attack by the  Turks Redoubt. For distinction in the war with the Turks shelf granted  April 11, 1879 with the inscription signs on hats, "For the capture of  the redoubt at Plevna".
