    Description

You are bidding on a Tailstock Alignment Tool. The dial indicators shown are NOT included. You simply mount YOUR OWN standard back lug indicator or a Starrett plunger style indicator to the mount to quickly line up your headstock spindle to tailstock by sweeping around both sides of your tailstock quill. If your headstock is already in alignment with your ways just chuck this tool and perfectly set your tailstock alignment. This is the same method used to find the center of a piece of round stock in a manual mill. You indicate around the stock to center it. Always check that your quill and Morse Taper are concentric. If they are not concentric, you will need a good quality ground drill arbor. Insert the drill arbor into the Morse Taper of your tailstock and indicate it. This tool is mostly steel and rugged. The slotted bar is 3/8" thick x 3/4" wide x approximately 5" long. The slot is 1/4" wide by 3 plus inches long. A piece of 5/8" diameter x 2" long cold rolled steel round bar fits into your chuck. The indicator post is 5/8" diameter 6061 aluminum. All the hardware is 1/4-20 except the #8 cross drilled hole. Use the mount with the aluminum post installed for a back lug indicator as shown in the pictures. Use the mount with the post removed for the Starrett indicator. Simply insert your Starrett indicator into the post hole and tighten the cross drilled screw to secure it. You are bidding on the mount only as shown in the last 3 photos.
The lathe, mirror, ruler and dial indicator's are NOT included.
