VetriScience Laboratories Vetri Same Liver Support Supplement for Dogs, 225mg
Vetri-SAMe is a product to help maintain optimal health and function of your pet’s liver. Vetri-SAMe combines the synergistic benefits of S-Adenosylmethionine (SAMe) with the powerful antioxidant Glutathione making it an advanced formula for liver support. Vetri-SAMe is an enteric coated tablet to ensure stability through the digestive activities of the stomach. This ensures its delivery intact to the small intestine where they are effectively absorbed and utilized. S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) supports liver function through methylation and formation of glutathione. As the body’s major methyl donor, SAMe is involved in many important biochemical reactions in the liver including detoxification and formation of many potent antioxidants. In the liver, SAMe supports intracellular glutathione production. Glutathione is the body’s master antioxidant and intracellular detoxifying agent. It is necessary for detoxification of drugs and toxins in the liver. SAMe is important for maintaining normal membrane function in liver cells. SAMe also has lipotropic activity which reduces the amount of fat in the liver which is one of the leading contributors of impaired liver function. When the liver is stressed or injured SAMe production decreases resulting in low glutathione levels. A low level of antioxidants in the liver lowers the liver’s ability to function normally. In fact, those suffering from liver disorders have been found to have low levels of SAMe.
